Three audiovisual installations and a multimedia device were created for this exhibition.
Upon entering the exhibition, the visitor is immersed in a first spectacular experience, in the heart of Versailles and its courtyard: a large projection invites the visitor to stroll through the castle, from the rooms to the gardens. Framed by walls of mirrors, modern citation of the Hall of Mirrors, the projection is reflected to infinity. A soundtrack, mixing contemporary music and reminiscences of the 17th century, completes the show.
The second device is a triple projection that invites the visitor to the great carousel given by Louis XIV. The animation of engravings scrolls the quadrilles and presents the perception of world cultures at the time, with luxurious or extravagant details of costumes. Music, laughter and exclamations from the audience compose a joyful and festive soundtrack... It's like being there!
Then, to understand the relations between Versailles and the world, commercial exchanges, political relations and scientific expeditions, the visitor can consult a large interactive podotactile map. It triggers playful animations making the objects and works of the exhibition travel on the map.
